The Regional Park Pass Lending Program is back in 2026! Starting from May 15th to September 8th, 2026, people with a valid library card can borrow a pass from any Saskatchewan library and enjoy a seven-day loan period with free access to nearly 100 regional parks across the province. This year, passes will be distributed to all regional library branches, libraries in Saskatoon, Regina, Prince Albert, Lloydminster, and university libraries in Saskatoon and Regina. Notice: Pine Cree Regional Park, near Eastend, SK, has chosen not to participate in the Regional Park Pass Lending Program this year. As such, they will not be honouring regional park passes borrowed from libraries throughout Saskatchewan. Please consider this in your travel plans. There are nearly 100 regional parks in Saskatchewan and all others will honour program passes. Notice: Recently we have had a large volume of contacts inquiring about free entry for seniors into Saskatchewan Regional Parks, referencing a Google search saying so. This is NOT the case, it is an inaccuracy from the Google AI Overview, which uses generative artificial intelligence to provide quick answers to questions; though the answer is not always accurate – Google themselves have a statement linked at the bottom of each AI Overview saying “AI responses may include mistakes. Learn more“. The AI Overview likely has trouble differentiating between a Regional Park and a Provincial Park, as Provincial Parks have offered free entry for Seniors 65 and older. Our Regional Park Pass Lending Program is a great way to get entry to our parks with a low barrier of entry – you just need a valid library card!
