Park Description

Assiniboia Regional Park operates from three locations, each with unique amenities. The golf course, the Willows Dam and the Centennial Park. The campground, centennial park and pool are all in one area. The pool features swimming lessons and the washrooms for the campgrounds. There is also a new splash park and each campsite has a BBQ and picnic table.

Town of Assiniboia offers grocery stores, restaurants, fuel stations, banks, Credit Union, car wash, laundry facilities, motels, playgrounds, schools and a Civic Centre are all located within the town and municipality of Assiniboia.

Features the late William Shurniak's collection from all over the world plus features many Saskatchewan artists. The gallery is closed Monday's and light lunch is available.

Excellent displays and an antique car collection. Tourist booth is located here and also features a Prentice Safari Display.


Park / Area History

Assiniboia Regional Park was formed in September of 1977. The park is operated through the partnership of the Town of Assiniboia and the three surrounding Rural Municipalities.


Barrier Free Access

Campsites: Very level grass/gravel. Walkways/Trails: Cement/Paved. Wheelchair accessible washrooms and showers are available. This park is located in the Town of Assiniboia, and many stores, attractions, and amenities are nearby.

Camping

The campground has 15 electric sites and two non serviced sites. The campsites are grassy and well treed to allow for privacy. Picnic tables and pole barbecues are also in the campsites. The modern showers and washrooms are located at the adjacent to the Assiniboia Aquatic Centre.


Golf

The Assiniboia Regional Park Golf Course has been expanding with a growing membership and improvements over the years. Grass greens, wide treed fairways, irrigation and a new fully modern licensed clubhouse with cart rentals are a few of the things that make this a successful golf course. Group bookings are available. Blue tees 2768 yards, red tees 2548 yards and a par of 36.

Swimming

The pool has lots of public swimming, fitness swimming and drop-in Aqua-fitness/Aqua Zumba classes. Schedules are available at the Aquatic Office, on the font desk of the Aquatic Centre building and on the campground bulletin board near the entrance.

Playground/Recreation Activities

New playground and swings installed in 2014. There is a large well maintained green space that is great for group gatherings. The park area features tables and benches.

Boating and Fishing

Willows Dam offers the angler either walleye or an abundance of perch. A boat launch is available for those who wish to venture out a little farther (gas motors are not permitted). The Dam is a popular place in the winter months for ice fishing.
