Park Description

Atton's Lake Regional Park features a spring fed, clear water lake with sandy beaches. There are camping, picnic and playground facilities near the water. This well treed park boasts clean modern facilities, concessions, playgrounds, unsupervised swimming area, nine hole grass greens golf course with a licensed clubhouse, ball diamonds, horse shoe pits (equipment not supplied), pickle ball court (equipment available) and a boat launch to name a few amenities. If peace and solitude are what you are seeking you can find it here. If action is where it's at for you, you can find plenty of that as well. There are numerous activities, organized and otherwise all summer. In the latter part of the season the park becomes a very peaceful haven with plenty of terrific outdoor fun to be had.

At Tomahawk Park you will find Clayton McClain Memorial Museum, showcasing the community's history.

Park / Area History

An extensive history of our park has been compiled by very hard working volunteers who love Atton's Lake Regional Park and love to call it their home away from home. It is called "Atton's Lake - A Summer Meeting Place" and can be found at http://virtualmuseum.ca

Playground/Recreation Activities

Swings, slide and climbing apparatuses are among the play ground equipment that is conveniently located adjacent to a day use picnic area, a camp kitchen and very close to the main beach and concession. Why not get the gang together for a soccer game on the pitch or softball at the diamonds, or perhaps horseshoes are more to your liking. These are all available in our recreation area. Equipment is not provided.  A pickle ball court is available adjacent to the golf course.  This equipment can be borrowed from the clubhouse for a nominal cash deposit.

Boating and Fishing

Try your hand at fishing. The amazingly clear waters of this lake will astound you. Some catch Pike from time to time. Perch are rather prolific later in the summer. Motor boats are banned on Atton’s Lake on weekends (Saturday & Sunday) in June, July and August, but may be enjoyed throughout the remainder of the week.  Kayaking and paddle boarding are very popular among park patrons and residents.  Equipment is not provided.

Hiking/Nature Trails

Check out Frog Lane, which will take you on a leisurely stroll to the boat launch or lead you on a slightly more challenging hike around the lake.  ATV’s are never allowed on hiking trails.

ATV use is completely banned in the Park in June, July and August.

Golf carts may be used for transportation around the park.  ALL operators must be in possession of a valid driver’s license.  Golf carts to be used for transportation around the park, for any length of time, MUST be registered with the Park Authority.  Registration forms and stickers can be obtained from the club house.  Fees may apply.
