Park / Area History

The whispers of pioneers linger in the air, where three antique threshers now overlook the park. Each thresher stands as a sentinel of time, bearing witness to countless harvests and seasons passed. A steel bridge from the early 1900's was relocated to the park and now stands as a link to the past and present, connecting the banks that once cradled Red River Settlers.
The church and hall, each with their own tales to tell, found new homes within the park's embrace, and now are used for numerous functions. The original Woods Cabin stands overseeing what is now Eagle Creek Regional Park. It is a testament to Eagle Creeks history. The cabin was built in the early 1940's on land owned by the Woods family. Ownership shifted in the early 1960's when the land exchanged hands, to become Eagle Creek Regional Park. Woods Cabin was renovated in 2024 and is available for rent, inviting others to create their own memories. None of this was possible if it wasn't for the selfless dedication of countless volunteers. Over six decades, these individuals poured their time and energy into shaping the park's identity, fostering a place where families gather, friends reunite, and memories are made.
