Park / Area History

The first regional park was located in the southwest corner of the village in the early 1920s. The fifteen acres along the lake provided swimming, boating and areas for picnic for a growing community. Beginning in 1948, this land was sold in various parcels for the purpose of building a hospital, then a school and then the skating and curling rinks. In 1966, a new area was established for the Ituna and District Regional Park in the southeast corner of Ituna. The regional park is 80 acres of well treed parkland.
