Park / Area History

The Kindersley Regional Park was established in 1968 encompassing the campsite, an existing nine hole grass green golf course, a water reservoir and lots of play area. In the mid 90's the golf course was reconfigured and new greens were built. With an ongoing desire to keep the course fresh a tree planting program was establish around 2003. In the late 1990's the campground was modernized with 30 amp power and in 2008, 20 sites had sewer added. In 2001, a paved walking trail was started and to date we have 4.2 km of paved trail that is accessible and barrier free that allows you to complete a hike around the Motherwell Dam.

Barrier Free Access

Campsites are level gravel; walkways and trails paved; wheelchair washrooms and showers are available.

Camping

The campground offers 45 paved or graveled sites with 30 amp service, water hook ups and picnic tables. We have 6 – 15 amp tenting sites.  In the evening gather around the fire pit to keep warm and swap fishing tales of the fish you just caught in our reservoir or replay that challenging fifth hole and how you almost got that birdie. In the morning, shower in fully modern washroom facilities kept spotless by our diligent and courteous staff. We also have a large camp kitchen with picnic tables and a wood burning stove where you can host any gathering large or small, and we will even provide the wood.

Golf

www.kindersleygolf.ca

The Park boasts an excellent nine hole grass green golf course where even the most experienced golfer will be challenged. Reconfigured in 1992 this par 36, 3127 yard course has water coming into play on seven holes. Each hole is capped off with an excellent grass green that even the most experienced golfer will enjoy. A roller for the greens was purchased in 2009 to give us some of the truest and fastest greens in the province. Running adjacent to the fourth hole you will find our driving range which provides you with a grassed tee box for a practice facility. No need to ruin your clubs on synthetic mats here. Our pro shop offers a line of products from clothing, club rentals, cart rentals and all the basics. Our golf course is fully licensed to offer you that refreshment after the game.

Playground/Recreation Activities

Two Slo-Pitch diamonds are located within the Regional park, adjacent to the camp kitchen.

Boating and Fishing

The Motherwell Dam offers off shore fishing or small non motorized boating. In the summer of 2009 a 13 lb. northern pike was landed.

Hiking/Nature Trails

Take in a wilderness hike on our 4.2 km of paved walking trail, which is barrier free so all on wheels can access the sights around the dam. Be sure to stop on the west end to see the wrought iron bridge that originally enclosed one of the town’s first libraries. It is not unusual to spot a deer or other wildlife that live in the trees of this area.
