Swimming
We have a large natural sand beach with lots of play structures in the water for the kids to play on. Swimming lessons in the month of July. Clean change house, shower and washroom facilities as well as an outdoor shower on the beach. There are no lifeguards on duty. Moose Creek Cafe has pedal boats, canoes, paddle boards, and kayaks for rent. A boardwalk is in place for barrier free access from the store down to the water’s edge.
Playground/Recreation Activities
We have several playgrounds available around the park for kids to enjoy including the “circle project” that is a great attraction at our south end for kids and parents so be sure to check it out.
Within our tennis court you have your choice of tennis, basketball, street hockey, and pickleball. The park also has a recreational ball diamond.
New to the park is the “Bark Park” for your canine family member. The Bark Park is the only place to be for off leash quality time with your dog while visiting the park. It provides plenty of space, shade and ample parking.
Boating and Fishing
The lake is approximately 7 miles long and 1/2 mile wide. Recreational boating is very popular, whether it’s a pontoon boat out for a leisurely cruise, a speed boat pulling kids or a fishing boat trolling the shores, you can do it all here! Pike, pickerel and perch all inhabit the lake and fishing has been very good. Anglers will be impressed with our fish filleting station also! We have 2 boat launches, several docks and a new marina where you can rent a slip for a few days or the whole season.
Hiking/Nature Trails
This may be our best kept secret at the park! We have some of the best hiking/biking trails around. Carved in amongst the trees and hillside overlooking the lake and the valley, it is a must do! You have your choice of a short hike or a long adventure to see nature at its best. The trails are wide, well groomed with several rest stops and features that will keep you informed all along the way.
Additional Features
You can’t miss out on our annual “Living Skies Come Alive” fireworks extravaganza every August Long weekend! It has become a MAJOR entertainment event attracting thousands of people each year to our park. It’s two nights of spectacular fireworks set to music and the valley backdrop, it’s a full weekend of activities for everyone (please watch our FB page for updates on this).
