Park Description

Beautiful setting with a vista of Anderson Lake and Town of Saltcoats. Pavillion available to rent for weddings or other social events.


Local Services

Located in Saltcoats you will find the following amenities: gas station / convenience store, automotive repair shop, propane services, restaurant, hotel & bar, fire department, post office and community hall. Bredenbury Golf Course is 13 km from the park. Cherrydale Golf Course is 16 km from the park.


Park / Area History

The park has been used since the 1880's and became a Regional Park in 1963. The Saltcoats District Regional Park hosts annual events such as ball tournaments and the Autumn Summit Cross Country Run, which attracts over a 1000 runners from over 40 schools in the area. It is also a great destination for family reunions / functions and weddings.

ALCOHOL BAN IN EFFECT FOR MAY LONG WEEKEND.

Dogs are allowed in the park but must remain on leash as per park bylaw.

Camping

Three clusters of campsites. At present 15 campsites in total, 11 sites with power and 4 site non serviced. Two central bathrooms and showers.


Group Camping

Our group camping area is open with room to configure parking and sites as needed.

 

 

 

 

Swimming

Our swimming area features a sandy beach, swimming dock, and beach benches. Shade trees, picnic tables and grassy open areas.

Playground/Recreation Activities

There is a large multipurpose apparatus, swings and slides.

Boating and Fishing

There is a boat launch and wood floating boat dock and a ski dock. No fish in the lake!

Hiking/Nature Trails

Leflay Nature Trails which starts in the park and winds through private land, with approval of the owners. The trails approximately 4 km long.

Additional Features

Fireworks display July 1. Lots of open grass areas. The ball diamonds have annual ball tournaments.
