Park Description

Shamrock Park is a small, friendly family park. Everything within the park is walking distance and everyone is very friendly and helpful. The concession provides basic food and treats, and groceries. The washrooms are modern with shower facilities located by the pool and in east campground.


Local Services

There is a restaurant in Coderre. Gas is available in Shamrock and Gravelbourg. Restaurant, grocery, and gas are also available in Gravelbourg.


Park / Area History

Shamrock Regional Park is one of the first Regional Parks, and a natural beauty for those who enjoy the outdoors. Shamrock Regional Park was acquired from the Federal Government in 1927, by virtue of a 21 year lease. It is made up of about 55 acres, cradled in a bend of the Wood River. Prior to this it was part of the W-Bar Ranch, and a natural place for a local rodeo. The official opening of Shamrock Regional Park took place in 1961.

Policies

Quiet time 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. All pets must be kept on a leash and pick up all feces. Speed limit 20 km/hr. Please use cans instead of glass bottles. Regulations pertaining to undue noise and disorderly conduct are in effect 24 hours a day. Anyone violating these regulations may have their camping permit cancelled and asked to leave the park.

Camping

This natural park is a pleasure for those who wish to tent or have a modern campsite. 15 amp and limited 30 amp power sites are available. Picnic tables and fire rings are available.


Group Camping

There is a picnic area for large group events and picnics. There are many areas where campers can park together.

Golf

Park View Golf Course is a well maintained, challenging, nine hole sand green course that winds around the river.

Swimming

Our pool provides hours of entertainment for all ages. It has a separate paddling pool with toys for young children, showers and change rooms. We also offer three different sets of swimming lessons through Canadian Red Cross (2 sets which are two weeks long, and 1 set which is one week long).

Playground/Recreation Activities

There are four playground areas (pool area, concession, ball diamonds and overflow area) There are three ball diamonds in the park we run a slow pitch league from June to August.

Boating and Fishing

Anyone can fish along the Wood River as it provides nine different fish species.

Hiking/Nature Trails

Trails along the river make walking and hiking very scenic and enjoyable. Many birds and wildlife can be seen along the way and you can stop to rest on the benches along the way.
