Lady Lake Regional Park once was part of the Gogal family's original homestead. Orvin Gogal donated the original 20 acres occupied by the park. Originally run by a local community board until 1967, the park became incorporated as a regional park under the provincial government. In the 1980's the Lady Lake Park Development Association acquired and leased another 20 acres to enlarge the park. The spring fed, one mile long and a half mile wide lake has a small peninsula and islands tucked in its waters. Lady Lake Regional Park even has its own legend which stems from a story of an Indian maiden who drowned herself rather than marry a man she did not love, who was chosen by her Chieftain father.
