Park Description

150 site campground. Modern, clean washrooms. Boat launch and trailer storage with public day use dock. Nice beach with children's playground and concession Mini golf and toddler playground. Exceptional nine-hole scenic golf course with grass greens. Modern clubhouse with full service licensed restaurant. Wakaw Lake supports good fishing for walleye, northern pike and perch. Boat re-fueling dock.


Local Services

Groceries, gasoline, boat and RV repair services, post office, hardware, drugstore, RCMP, Collaborative Emergency Centre (CEC) and Medical Clinic, liquor outlets, bowling alley and restaurants are available in the Town of Wakaw.


Park / Area History

Wakaw Lake Regional Park was founded in 1965 and is supported by the six local municipalities, being the Town of Wakaw, Town of Cudworth. R.M. of Hoodoo, R.M. of Fish Creek, R.M. of St. Louis, and the R.M. of Invergordon.


Barrier Free Access

Clubhouse and new washrooms are wheelchair accessible. Campground washrooms are limited by gravel approaches.

Policies

Reservations will not be accepted from individuals less than 19 years of age. All campers staying at a site must be at least 19 years of age, unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. Dogs must always be leashed. ATV use prohibited in the park. Golf cart drivers must hold a valid auto driver’s license. Golf carts must be registered with the Park for use off the golf course. A boat launch and trailer storage fee apply. Alcohol Ban – May long weekend.

Camping

30-amp and 50-amp full service sites. 20-amp and 30-amp power only sites. All powered sites have fire pits and picnic tables. Over flow sites are available with no site services. Three modern washrooms with coin operated showers. Laundry and concession are located at the beach store.


Group Camping

Group camping is 30 amp power only. Campsites D-1 to D16 (D10-D15 Full Service) D-63 to D75; overflow. Gazebo available in D campsites.

 

 

 

 

Golf

Very attractive nine-hole course with grass greens. Modern licensed clubhouse with restaurant service, deck lounge. Golf carts, clubs, pull-carts and accessories available in the Pro shop.

Swimming

Groomed sand beach, shallow drop, no lifeguard. Playground and concession next to beach.

10 Lessons per set – 2 lessons per day – Monday to Friday.

Playground/Recreation Activities

Children’s playground next to the beach and toddler playground next to the mini-golf.  Beach volley-ball court

Boating and Fishing

Wakaw Lake has good fishing for naturally breeding northern pike, walleye and perch. Fish filleting facility with running water. Wide sand boat launch for double launching with two large floating docks and one day use dock. No overnight docking. Boat trailer storage area is organized and maintained. Paddleboats, canoes and kayaks for rent.  Boat   re-fueling dock at the marina allowing for direct fill into a watercraft with premium grade fuel.  Accepting only debit or credit card for fuel payment.

Mini Golf

Well maintained and staffed during July and August.
